have you ever eaten anything, because you think it's healthy, but later found that food is not good for you at all? If the answer is "yes", don't feel embarrassed. Advertising and misinformation around what we eat can make every food look healthy, even if nothing is more outrageous than the truth. To help you distinguish between friends of food and enemies of food, we asked two registered nutritionists, Lauren Antonucci and Lisa Moskowitz of nutrition energy company, a sports performance nutrition center in New York City, to expose some of the villains behind the "health" label who destroy food. Here are their nine worst criminals:

1. Protein bars

"protein bars are basically vitamin and protein infused candy," moskovitz said. They look like a healthy alternative to snacks, but they contain more than twice as much fat and carbohydrates as chocolate brownies. And provide at least 5 grams of fiber.

2. Dried fruit has more than 100 calories per quarter cup. When you eat dried fruit, the calories will increase rapidly. Antonucci suggests replacing it with fresh or frozen fruit. " "You will be able to eat bigger, more satisfying foods with fewer calories and feel fuller from the liquid," Antonucci said. It's about the following five tough fruits and how to eat them. " Yogurt is a good source of calcium and vitamin D. But some brands have the same amount of fat and sugar as jelly doughnuts. You have to choose a simple, low-fat version to get good things. Season yourself with fruit and honey. Go to Greece as much as you can. Moscowitz said pure Greek yoghurt provides twice as much protein and half as much carbohydrate as traditional yoghurt.

In a head-on battle between butter and its artificial rivals, the original butter won by a landslide. Of course, according to the Mayo Clinic, the fat content is the same, but margarine contains more trans fat, which will increase your "bad" (LDL) cholesterol and reduce your "good" (HDL) cholesterol at the same time. This is an ingredient that our nutritionists recommend to avoid completely, "moskovitz said. To reduce the risk of heart disease, stick to the real way. Select whipped butter with lower heat density.

5. Low fat peanut butter

when manufacturers extract fat from peanut butter, they replace it with sugar. As a result, low-fat peanut butter has the same total calories as the original, but more than twice as many carbohydrates. " "It's better to stick to the routine," moskovitz said. You'll eat less because the whole fat is more satisfying and fuller. "

6. "Treat them as a decadent treat, not a healthy coffee partner," Antonucci said. A typical bran muffin contains more than 400 calories and 15 grams of fat, most of which come from sugar and refined flour. Can't you skip your breakfast muffins? Antonucci said the best way is to make a low-fat, controlled weight version at home.

7. If you're looking at blood pressure, don't eat it. " "Just two tablespoons of fat free italian seasoning will give you 500 milligrams of booster sodium," moskovitz said. This is one-third of the total amount you should eat all day. " Instead, she suggests you make your own low salt condiments, mixing vinegars, lemon juice and pepper, turmeric and mustard seeds.

8. Many people think that ordering turkey burgers instead of beef will keep them slim. Don't be fooled. The average restaurant turkey burger has 600 calories and 30 grams of fat, and no bread or ingredients. " Next time you want to know which burger to choose, don't worry about the kind of meat. Instead, you can limit your weight by sharing it with friends or showing off.

9. Sushi rolls can be deceiving because they're packed tightly and look small, but some are calorie bombs just waiting to blow up your waistline. A roll can hold more than 500 calories. To avoid these high calorie three wire cables, moscowitz recommends avoiding anything that includes tempura (also known as frying), cream cheese, cheese shreds or spicy mayonnaise.
